EVENTS
Remembrance Day
November, 2021
Our Remembrance Service this year was so moving… The children lowered the flag to half mast, laid poppy crosses in the sand, recited prayers and readings and laid wreaths.
Apples!
November, 2021
After collecting apples from the local orchard, all the children had such fun using our new fruit crusher and press! They made 18 bottles of apple juice and 48 pots of delicious apple sauce and cut out fabric toppers to decorate the jars.
Harvest
October, 2021
The children loved setting up their Harvest display. They picked many different varieties of pumpkins, gourds and corn from the farm, and then wrote on and laminated autumn leaves whilst the Nursery children made autumn wreaths.
Spirit of Christmas Shop
December, 2019
The Spirit of Christmas Shop was a great success again, with each child choosing presents for their families and friends. The PA raised over £500, and all the children had a great time!
Wreath Workshop
November, 2019
Our annual wreath-making workshop for parents was great fun this year, and resulted in some beautiful creations being made whilst enjoying a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. We were again lucky enough to have the the expert tutelage of our wonderful gardening teacher Edy Mokone.
Remembrance Day
November, 2019
All the children, both from the Nursery and the Elementary did so well as usual in performing their heartfelt and thought-provoking Remembrance Service. Many family members came to take part and supported the Poppy Appeal by buying hot drinks and cakes from the P.A’s cake stall. A member from the Royal British Legion also attended to watch the service and St Helens raised a total of £237.18.
New Parents Coffee Morning
November, 2019
The PA had a great turnout of both new and 'old' nursery parents at The Tickled Trout, where copious cups of coffee and slices of cake were enjoyed while new friends were made. Welcome to all our new parents!
School Elections!
November, 2019
The elementary children held an election and each child voted for a Prefect, Behaviour Monitor, Head Boy and Head Girl. Congratulations to those elected.
Harvest Celebrations
October, 2019
Lots of families from both the nursery and elementary joined us after-school for a wonderful evening of sparklers, toasting marshmallows at the fire-pit, mulled cider (or apple juice!) and homemade cakes. The children’s apple crumbles were on sale, and we can testify that they were delicious!
Apple Picking
October, 2019
Instead of their normal gardening lesson, on 11th October the elementary children walked to the local nursery to pick apples in the orchard. It seems that more were eaten than brought back to school, but hopefully we will have enough left for the children to make apple crumbles at 'Crumble Club' later in the month.
Father's Day Campout
June, 2019
On the evening of Friday 14th June, the Elementary children pitched their tents in the playing field for our annual Fathers Day campout. After building a fire pit and playing lots of games, the children enjoyed grilling their own hot dogs and toasting marshmallows. It was a fabulous evening for both children and parents, and the following morning the early risers collected eggs from our chickens and prepared breakfast!
